The Support ProgrammeThe Arbours Support Programme offers non-residential intensive psychotherapeutic support to people in emotional distress, in the community. The programme is particularly aimed towards people leaving hospital or other residential establishments, who in the initial stages may need more intensive support and treatment. It is also for people in the community who are approaching a crisis and need more intensive support to avoid hospital admission. The programme offers two types of psychotherapeutic intervention, psychotherapy and art therapy in a group setting. The work focuses on what precipitates crises in order to help the person make sense of what is happening, and thereby provide understanding and insight into this, and any future crises. The group provides a space for people to share their feelings, fears and fantasies, thereby lessening their sense of isolation and enabling them to maintain links with other people and the external world. Looking at how people inter-relate, and the group dynamics is an important aspect of the group. The programme is run by a psychotherapist and an art therapist. In the event that someone should require additional support in the short or long term, we can refer them for individual psychotherapy with an Arbours psychotherapist. Additional work with a person's family, partner, or network can also be arranged where considered appropriate. This would involve additional cost. Throughout the programme close links would be maintained with the person's keyworker where appropriate, and two months prior to the end of the contract a review meeting would be held to identify pertinent issues, and discuss future plans for the person. The fee for the Arbours Support Programme is £90.00 per week. In cases of hardship this fee is negotiable. The fees cover the following:
