The Carers Group

We appreciate that when a person becomes a resident at the centre it raises many questions and concerns, not only for the guests, but for their family and friends as well. "Why is the guest at the centre?", "How long will he or she be there?", "What is going to happen when they leave?" Guests will have many different opportunities before and during their stay to discuss their feelings and concerns, but we want to make sure that their family and friends also get a chance to ask the questions that matter to them.

Solely for the family and friends of guests at the centre, The Carers Group provides a time and space to meet and share, privately and confidentially, any questions or worries they may have. People can come and share their concerns, ask questions, and hopefully calm their fears. Moreover it is a time to find out a bit more about the centre; How does it work? What kind of support is given to the guests? and Why do we work the way we do?

The group is led by Joe Berke and Kate Hardwicke.

Details:

At the moment the group takes place every two weeks in the early evening  at the Centre. If you are interested in coming, please contact the centre by phone, post or e-mail. People who attend share the cost of the meeting, £50/couple.
